The Recreation Department offers a diverse range of activities tailored for youth aged 3-17. Whether you're looking to stay active, learn a new skill, or socialize with like-minded individuals, we have something for everyone.Artistic DrawingStudents will learn the basics techniques of drawing with graphite pencil. This class is in Spanish.Ballet DanceParticipants  will learn the basic steps such as first position, second position, revele, and barre exercises.CheerChildren will learn the basic motions, jumps, and chants to put it all together in a fun routine.Chews from the HeArtCalling on all young artists! Join Jamie Chew and the Color Crusaders in designing and painting custom shoes for a great cause. Each artist will create uniquely customized designs based on the preferences chosen by the recipient. Shoes and all painting materials will be provided. Participants will be selected.Crochet ClassJoin us for step-by-step Crocheting classes that will help you learn everything from beginner basics to advanced techniques.Fitness for the Fun of ItThis class will feature warm-ups, stretching, dancing and several cooperative activities that promote color, number, and shape recognition.Generation PoundGeneration pound is an inclusive-oriented program that fuses movement and music! By combining exercise and interactive activities, kids will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace creativity and Rock Out!Guitar for BeginnersStudents will learn the basics, such as chords, finger strumming, and will learn to play a song.Karate Kofuja-DoKarate provides a full-body workout while improving strength and condition.KeyboardA practical and simple method will be used in which students will learn the basics.Kids Night OutJoin us for some board games, crafts , indoor activities, movies, and a snack.June 6, 20, July 18, August 1, 2026.Polynesian DanceParticipants will learn the basic steps of Hula Ori Tahiti. They will also learn to dance an Otea. They will learn about the Hawaiian instrument IPU and the Tahitian instrument Toere.Ritmos LatinosHave fun while learning to dance various styles of dance like Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, and others.Singing ClassesThis course focuses on vocal technique development and choral ensemble training, and includes repertoire preparation for a collective performance.Sketching with ChewFollow Jamie on this step-by-step sketching program.  Participants will need to bring their own sketch pad/paper, crayons/color pencils, and a sharpener.Teen Musical TheatreTeens will build confidence while learning singing, choreography, and basic acting skills. Violin for BeginnersBeginner violin class where students will learn techniques, basic music theory, and fun beginner songs. Limited instruments are available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis with a deposit, CASH ONLY.Youth Acrylic PaintingParticipants will learn the technique of acrylic painting through easy exercises to develop the creativity.Zumba for All This class is for youth, adults and Seniors and taught in Spanish.
