The Recreation Department offers a diverse range of activities tailored for adults aged 18-54. Whether you're looking to stay active, learn a new skill, or socialize with like-minded individuals, we have something for everyone.
Acrylic Painting
Material needed: A list of materials needed for class will be provided by the instructors.
This class is for both adults and senior citizens and taught in Spanish. A course in which students will learn the acrylic painting technique of colors, textures, blurring of color range, handling of light and shadow, and more! Please note that there is different skill levels; please register for the one according to your level of expertise. First day of classes will be used to determine participant's skill level. Participants may need to be removed from a class level they don't belong.
Chews from the HeArt
Calling on all young artists! Join Jamie Chew and the Color Crusaders in designing and painting custom shoes for a great cause. Each artist will create uniquely customized designs based on the preferences chosen by the recipient. Shoes and all painting materials will be provided. Participants will be selected.
Crochet Classes

Join us for step-by-step Crocheting classes that will help you learn everything from beginner basics to advanced techniques.
Folkloric Dance
Requires for class: Folkloric Dance Shoes.
Note: This class is in Spanish.
Learn about this beautiful dance and its techniques; arm, head, and waist movement, stomping, and turns. Folkloric dance skirts will be provided during class.
Guitar for Beginners
Required for class: Acustic guitar, notepad and pen.
Students will learn the basics such as chords, finger strumming, and will learn to play a song.
Hula Dance
Participants will learn to coordinate their bodies to dance the hula. This class helps with body movement coordination and provides an excellent opportunity to stay healthy.
Keyboard
Require for class: Keyboard with batteries.
A practical and simple method will be used in which students will learn the basics.
Musical Theater
A fun and energetic class designed to help performers shine on stage! Build confidence while learning singing, choreography, and basic acting skills.
Personal Motivation
Inspiring volunteer therapist, Luis Flores, leads this motivational group.
Ritmos Latinos
Have fun while learning to dance various styles of dance like Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata and others.
Sewing for Beginners
Note: This class is in Spanish.
This is a fun sewing series aimed at acquainting students with their sewing machines, beginning with the basics and growing skills. This first beginner sewing class students will learn ho to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch and much more. Sewing machine needed for classes. A list of materials will be provided.
Singing Class
This course is focused on vocal technique development and choral ensemble training, includes repertoire preparation for a collective performance.
Tai Chi
This class if for both adults and senior citizens. Tai Chi is an art that embraces the mind, body and spirit. Begin your journey to better health.
Violin for Beginners
Beginner violin class where students will learn techniques, basic music theory, and fun beginner songs. Limited instruments are available to borrow on a first-come, first-serve basis with a deposit, CASH ONLY.
Yoga
Note: Participants can only register for one (1) option.
This class is for both adults and senior citizens. Yoga helps reduce anxiety and stress. All levels welcomed. Please bring a yoga mat.
Zumba for All
Note: This class is in Spanish.
This class is for youth, adults and Seniors and taught in Spanish. Help us keep you fit and active as you work out and dance with Erika.
